Atlantic City Council Approves Contract for Street Improvement Project

(Atlantic) The cost of the 2025 Street Improvement Project will be less than expected, with the low bid coming in at $1,073,700.25. Dave Sturm, an engineer for Synder and Associates, stated that the bid for asphalt alone came in about $400,000 less than the engineer’s estimate.

Sturm informed the council he would have the work schedule and timeline ready for them at the April 16 meeting.

The project includes:

*2^nd Street (Poplar Street to Walnut Street)
*3^rd Street (Poplar Street to Walnut Street)
*4^th Street (Poplar Street to Walnut Street)
*5^th Street (Poplar Street to Walnut Street)
*6^th Street (Poplar Street to Walnut Street)
*North Chestnut Street (State Street to Schildberg Parking Lot)
*Chestnut Street (Depot Station to 7^th Street)
*State Street (Locust Street to Chestnut Street) with additions
*Walnut Street north of 7^th Street
