(Bedford, IA) — While the majority of track and field meets were cancelled across the state on Tuesday night, Bedford plowed ahead in chilly conditions with winds hitting near 20 mph making the 50 some degrees feel much colder. However, the meet was completed before the rains came and Lenox won the boys competition with Griswold in 2nd place. Fremont Mills won the boys with again Griswold in the 2nd spot. Griswold Girls: The Tigers had three first place relays — the 4×800 won at 12:22.63 (Alexa Steinhoff, Camille Dorscher, Josie Millikan, Marissa Askeland); the Distance Medley at 5:06.01 (Reese Laverty, Sadie Gohlinghorst, Amanda Houser, Marissa Askeland); and the 4×400 at 4:32.04 (Addison Adams, Sadie Gohlinghorst, Amanda Houser, Carsyn Adams). Addison Adams was 2nd in the 200, 2nd in the 400 and 4th in the 400 hurdles. Carsyn Adams was 2nd in the 100 hurdles and 3rd in the 800. Bristol Wyman finished 5th in the 400 Hurdles and 6th in the Long Jump.
Griswold Boys: Four first place finishes for the Tigers including two relays — the 4×400 won at 3:49.09 (Peyton Cook, Cody Dorscher, Auden Wilson, Conner Bowers) and the Distance Medley won at 3:53.88 (Bode Wyman, Nollan Smith, Conner Bowers, Cody Dorscher). Bowers won the High Jump at 5’10” and Dorscher won the 800 at 2:10.53. Cook was 2nd in the 100, 2nd in the 110 Hurdles and 3rd in the 400 Hurdles. Wilson was 3rd in the 400 and 6th in the 100. Holden Jensen was 2nd in the 2 mile. Wyatt Silk was 4th in the 110 Hurdles. RJ Dishong finished 4th in the discus
CAM Girls: Ada Hansen was a double winner for the Cougars, anchoring the Sprint Medley Relay to a first place finish with Brookelyn Steffens, Bailey Lillard and Ruthie Rich with a time of 1:56.93. Hansen also won the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:05.33. Courtney Follmann won the discus with a throw of 117-08 and finished 5th in the shot put. Rich was 3rd in the 100 Hurdles and Lily Barber 3rd in the discus and 6th in the shot put.
CAM Boys: The 4×200 relay team had the only win for CAM with Keagan Croghan, Collin Bower, Cohen McCann, and Kayden Winther with a time of 1:37.25. CAM had 2nd place relays in the Distance Medley and 4×100. McKee was 3rd in the 100 and 5th in the 400 Hurdles. Kase Calhoun was 3rd and Winther was 4th in the Long Jump. Zach Kauffmann finished 5th in the 1 mile and Bower was 6th in the 110 Hurdles. Brayden Chester got a 6th place in the discus.
Nodaway Valley Girls: Izzy Eisbach ran away with a first place finish in the 1 mile with a time of 5:46.11 — she also finished 2nd in the 800. Maddie Weston was 2nd in the 100 at 14.01 seconds. Kylie Nielson was 6th in the 800 and Jazz Christensen finished 6th in both the 1500 and 200.
Nodaway Valley Boys: Gabe Winkelman was a double individual winner for the Wolverines, winning the 2 mile at 10:36.99 and the 1 mile at 5:07.16. He was also 4th in the 800. Nod Valley won the 4×800 with Haden Colton, Paul Kading, Luke Kading and Eli Harris with a time of 9:28.59. Trent Warner was first in the shot put with a best throw of 49-08 — he was 5th in the discus. Ashton Honnold was 4th in the shot put and 7th in the discus.
Southwest Valley Boys: No winners for the Timberwolves but Walker Bissell was 2nd in the High Jump; Wyatt Mendenhall was 2nd in the 400 and 2nd in the 400 Hurdles; Gavin Wetzel was 3rd in the High Jump; and SV was 2nd in the 4×100 relay.
Lana Alley for Fremont Mills was a 4 time winner in the 100 Hurdles, 200, anchored the 4×200 and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay. Hannah Wilson was a 2 time winner in the 800 and 3200. Carlie Chambers won the High Jump, Carlie Nuckolls won the Long Jump and the Knights won the 4×100 relay. The only winner for the boys was the 4×100 relay.
Lenox had a 4 time winner on the boys side — Gabe Fink won the 100, 110 Hurdles, 400, and 400 Hurdles. The Boys Sprint Medley finished first, Sadie Cox was first in the 400 and McKinzie Menefee won the 100.
The host school Bedford won the boys Shuttle Hurdle; Kase Coleman won the Long Jump and Alexis Perkins won the Shot Put. Morgan Cooley of East Union won the discus and was 2nd in the shot put.
