Santisteban Takes Over As Spartans Boys Track and Field Head Coach But Has Thin Numbers

(Exira, IA) — The school bus is pretty sparce for the Boys Track and Field team this year for Exira EHK. Just 9 Spartans are out for the team this spring but that is not going to deter Tony Santistaben to get the most out of what he has. Santisteban is coaching this year with Kevin Brown moving to help the girls team. There is only one senior on the team — Tim Reinhardt who dual sport in golf and will compete in mid-distance and with his cross country experience, he can do the 1 and 2 mile. Santistaben talks about his juniors starting with Austin Rasmussen

As far as sophomores and freshmen, Santisteban is still evaluating to see what they can do

Even with the low numbers, Santisteban wants to put together a Sprint Med or Distance Medley Relay. The goal is always to try and get as many to the blue oval as you can
