Bulldog Boys Soccer Open Season Tonight With Young Exciting Team

(Oakland, IA) — Tonight is the first night for soccer competition and the Riverside Boys will visit Logan Magnolia this evening, then they head to Atlantic tomorrow night. The Bulldogs are coming off a 5-6 season but they lose five seniors plus leading scorer Cruz Jacquez decided to only go out for track this year — last year as a freshman he had a solid 11 goals. So Head Coach Rick Ryun will turn to other players for his offense

Riverside should be strong on defense but will be young — Freshman Kort Reiken will be at defensive mid, Sophomore Perrin Towne will be at center back, and Ryun says he has a good goalkeeper

The Bulldogs do not have many numbers — only 15 are out for the team this spring so Ryun emphasizes the need to stay healthy and the boys better be ready to run. They are also young — only one senior on the team. Riverside opens up tonight against Logan Magnolia and then visit Atlantic tomorrow evening
