(Des Moines) This week marks U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins’ inaugural visit to Iowa since her confirmation on February 13th.
During her visit, Secretary Rollins will stop at several locations, including an ethanol plant and a seed production facility, and will also visit a farm. The day will conclude with her serving as the keynote speaker at the Iowa Agriculture Leaders Dinner in Ankeny, alongside Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig.
Before taking the helm of the 100,000-employee agriculture department, the 52-year-old Rollins served as the president and CEO of the America First Policy Institute, a think tank supportive of Trump. In the last year of Trump’s first term, she held the position of acting director of the White House’s Domestic Policy Council and spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2024. Rollins’ legal background is notable, having contributed to her previous role in the Trump administration. She was a prominent speaker at the recent Republican National Convention.
