(Harrison County) Two people suffered injuries in a car/semi collision in Harrison County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:44 a.m. this morning on southbound Interstate 29 near the 92-mile marker. Authorities say 27-year-old Jonathan Terpstra of Bellevue, Nebraska, and 25-year-old Reece Robinson of Shepard, Montana, suffered injuries in the crash.
According to the report, Terpstra was driving a 2024 Toyota Corrolla, and Robinson was operating a 2001 Freightliner tractor trailer southbound in Interstate 29 when Terpstra lost control of the Toyota, veered into the left lane, before returning to the right lane, the semi swerved to avoid contact into the left lane, and struck the rear of the car. The Corolla came to rest in the west ditch. The semi overturned onto its driver’s side and ended up partially in the west ditch and partially on the west shoulder of the roadway.
The accident remains under investigation.
