(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley Girls Track and Field has small numbers coming into the new season — there are only nine Wolverines coming out in 2025 so Head Coach Brett Welsch will be limited in what he can do with relays and may have to concentrate more on individual events.
Welsch does return Senior Maddie Weston who won an 8th place medal in the 100 meters a year ago at state. Nodaway Valley was also 4th in the 4×100 relay but with the low numbers, they might not be able to field a team this year. So Welsch would like to push Weston into running the 200
Junior Izzy Eisbach moves from her All State basketball season to the track this spring and will compete in the 800 and 1500 and Welsch says there will be no problem to stoke her competitive fire
Weston and Jazz Christensen will be the team’s seniors this year while Eisbach and Kylee Nelson are the Juniors — Nelson is a little injured currently but once healthy she will compete in the 800. The rest of the team is sophomores and freshmen
Nodaway Valley’s first outdoor meet is at Bedford on Tuesday, April 1.
