(Atlantic) Spring is here, and the Cass County Master Gardeners are offering grants for community gardening, beautification, and education projects for the 2025 growing season.
According to the press release, these Memorial Grants honor long-time Master Gardener volunteers. Funding is raised through events like the spring plant sale on May 10.
Any Cass County not-for-profit group, including schools, libraries, 4-H clubs, and churches, can apply for grants up to $300. Applications must include plans for teamwork and sustainability. Past grant recipients from 2024 are ineligible to apply this year.
Recipients must submit a report detailing fund usage at the season’s end and will receive a garden sign.
Applications are due by 4:30 PM on April 14 and can be submitted via mail or email. Notification of grant status will be given by May 1.
For details or questions, contact the Cass County Extension office at 712-243-1132 or email keolson@iastate.edu. Application forms can be found on their website at www.extension.iastate.edu/cass or picked up at their office.
