(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose seven cents to an average of $2.98 across Iowa. This is 26 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.10, up two cents from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 2 cents this week to a statewide average of $3.33. One year ago, the average was $3.79. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $3.60.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.38 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $66.89. Brent crude oil rose by $.11 and is currently priced at $70.57. WTI crude sold for $84.39 one year ago, and Brent crude was $87.36.
Natural gas prices were down $.04 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.15.
Propane prices averaged $1.65 per gallon in Iowa.
Home heating oil prices had a statewide average of $2.84 per gallon.
