(Maryville) Area teams competed at the Northwest Missouri High School boy’s Invitational Indoor meet on Saturday at Maryville, Missouri.
The top finishers were, Gabe Funk of Lenox, first in the 60-meter hurdles, and 400 meters. Bryce Williams of Red Oak topped the field in the 3200, Parker Heisterkamp, St. Albert, won the 1600, and Clarinda claimed first in the Distance Medley Relay.
For Atlantic, Grant Petty finished fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles, Gavin McLaren, fifth in the Shot Put, Ethan McNeal finished sixth in the 200, and two relays scored top eight finishes. Atlantic was fifth in the Distance Medley, and eighth in the Sprint Medley Relay.
Clarinda finished third as a team led by a first place finish in the Sprint Medley, second in the 4×400, and seventh in the Distance Medley. Kyle Wagoner was second in the 1600, and Nolan Wagoner, seventh in the 200 meters. Kaiden Roop finished fifth, and Nolan Wagoner eighth in the Long Jump.
Red Oak finished fifth overall. Bryce Williams topped the field in the 3200 meters. Cale Hall placed fourth in the 60 meters, and fifth in the 200. Brayden Sifford finished eighth in the 60, and fourth in the 400. Reese Montgomery, fourth in the 800, Emmanuel Grass, fourth in the 1600, and the Sprint Medley was fifth.
AHSTW finished seventh in the team standings. Luke Sternberg finished second in the 200, and 400. Collin Harder was second in the 800, and fifth in the 1600.
Nodaway Valley competed well in the distance races. Gabe Winklemann, and Luke Kading finished sixth, and seventh respectively in the 1600 meters, and Cherubium Mercado fifth in the 3200, and Trenton Warner grabbed third place in the Shot Put. The Wolverines finished runner-up in the Distance Medley.
For Creston, Tyler Riley seventh in the 400 meters, Wyatt Goodenberger, eighth in the 1600 meters, and Thomas Mikkelsen, was runner-up in the Shot Put.
