(Maryville, Missouri) Several area school posted top eight results in Saturday’s girl’s Northwest Missouri High School Indoor Invitational. Lili Denton of St. Albert topped the field in the 800 meters with an impressive early season time of 2:19.07. The Saints also claimed the top finish in the 4×400 meter relay. Woodbine showed depth in the distance races with a one-two finish in the 1600 meters. Adyson Lapel, Woodbine, won it, and teammate Reagan Cogdill finished second. Lila Widerstein of Atlantic claimed first in the Long Jump with good early season effort 17-02.00.
Atlantic finished in fourth place led by Wiederstein’s gold medal performance in the Long Jump. Jayci Reed finished fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles, Allison Middents seventh in the 200, Emerie Jones, eighth in the 400, Katrina Williams, eighth in the 800, and Olivia Olson, and Faith Larsen finished seventh, and eighth place respectively in the Shot Put. The Trojans placed two relay teams in the top eight in the 4×400. Botos, Reed, Jones, and Wiederstein were 5th, and Middents, Williams, Comes, and Andersen eighth.
Clarinda finished third in the team race. Jerzee Knight finished runner-up in the 60 and 200 meters, Riley Long, third in the 1600, Riley King, fifth in the 3200, second in the 4×400, and sixth, and seventh in the Distance Medley. Alexa Barnes finished sixth in the Long Jump.
Tri-Center finished fourth as a team. Layla Meador and Avilyn Killpack finished fifth and eighth in the 60 Meter Hurdles. Tess Casey, second in the 400 meters, Isah VanArsdol, third in the 800, Reese Ditmer, fifth in the 1600, Addison Payne was sixth in the 3200, Jozie Payne, fourth in the Long Jump, and Avilyn Killpack, fifth in the High Jump. Tri-Center placed third in the Sprint Medley, third in the 4×400, and second in the Distance Medley Relays.
