(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors revisited a resolution regarding voluntary annexation of 473 acres of land in the southern part of the County adjacent to 192nd Street.
The City of Council Bluffs presented Pottawattamie County with an application for voluntary annexation to the City from five property owners wishing to be annexed into the City of Council Bluffs. Last week, a motion to approve the resolution failed to pass with Supervisors Scott Belt, Brian Shea and Jeff Jorgensen voting Nay and Susan Miller and Tim Wichman voting Aye.
Supervisor Tim Wichman told the Board on Tuesday that he would like them to consider this as a potential future development opportunity.
Supervisors Belt, Shea and Jorgensen said their biggest concerns dealt with the road and how it would be paved.
It was noted that any comments from the public, as well as those from the Board of Supervisors, will be submitted to the State Annexation Board along with the annexation plan. If the State board wishes to incorporate any changes, they will have the opportunity to do so.
In the end, the Supervisors voted 4-1 (with Belt voting nay) to approve the resolution in support of the proposed annexation.
