(Guthrie Center, IA) — Even though they fell short of their goal of making it to the state tournament, it was a great season for AC/GC Boys Basketball and on Tuesday two players were named by the Print Sportswriters to the All-State team — Senior Noah Kading was named 2nd Team All-State and Senior Payton Policky was a 3rd Team All State selection.
For Kading the coach’s son he says that it was not his scoring ability that got him the honor, it was his ability to pass the basketball that got the attention
Kading was 2nd on the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game and also averaged 5.6 assists a game which led the West Central Conference. Payton Policky, meanwhile, averaged a double double 13.8 points and 13.5 rebounds a game and Kading says he was deserving to being All State
Kading says the team being ranked in the top 5 most of the season was a highlight and he feels like he has grown so much as a basketball player in his four years at AC/GC and loved the chance to play with his older brother Miles and his younger brother Jonny and for his Dad Lance
Kading has not made a decision about his future, he is still looking in the possibility of playing college basketball. He says he will participate in golf this spring and baseball in the summer for AC/GC.
