(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors held a joint public hearing with Adair County this morning to consider vacating and closing a portion of 780th Lane, also known as Union Avenue or Adair-Cass Avenue.
There were no public comments for or against vacating the road.

The Supervisors approved a resolution vacating about 2,034 feet of 780th Lane.
The Cass County Supervisors then held a public hearing to consider vacating and closing about 1,287 feet of Quebec Lane. There were no public comments and a resolution to vacate the road was approved.
In other action, the Supervisors approved the Iowa Department of Transportation Federal-Aid Agreement for a County Highway Bridge program for a project on Keystone Road.
The Supervisors approved amending the Secondary Roads five-year construction program to move bridge #73 from 2027 to 2025. The amendment is a result of NEPA clearance sooner than anticipated. The bridge is located on 620th Street near Lyman.
The Supervisors approved the plans and specifications for that bridge replacement on 620th Street.
The Supervisors approved the plans and specifications for HMA Resurfacing/CIP Recycling on N-28 south of Highway 92 to the county line.
The Supervisors also held a lengthy conversation with General Assistance Director Debbie Schuler and area funeral home directors about revising the Indigent Remains Disposition Policy. The revisions remain under discussion and no action was taken this morning.
