(Griswold, IA) — In TV and movie lore, the Addams Family are a family that are slow and creepy. On the Griswold girls track and field team, the Adams sisters are hardly so. Last year younger sister Carsyn Adams went to state as a freshman and finished 8th in the 100 hurdles and 9th in the 400 hurdles while older sister Junior Addison Adams was 11th in the 400 hurdles. Griswold Head Coach Rachel Larson is excited to see what the Adams sisters can do this year
Both Adams sisters ran on the shuttle hurdle relay team along with Reese Laverty and Bristol Wyman and are poised to improve on last year’s 10th place finish
The hurdles are Griswold’s strongest event but the Tigers have talent across the track. Sophomore Amanda Houser will lead the sprinters, Junior Josie Millikan will lead the 1 and the 2 mile. Larson believes she can put together a 4×400 relay that can make it to state with the Adams sisters along with Senior Marissa Askeland and Sophomores Arika Palmer and Sadie Gohlinghorst. Palmer also was in the high jump and Wyman competes in the long jump. Senior Ryleigh Harrison will lead the throwers. With 23 total on the roster, Larson says this team can make a run at the conference title
Griswold will compete in the Audubon early bird meet on March 31.
