(Des Moines) Last week, the Iowa House passed House File 248 regarding Adoptive Parent Benefits.
Iowa House District 18 Representative Tom Moore said this legislation ensures that all new parents are treated the same by their employers.
Tom Moore highlighted two other bills that passed through the House.
House File 516 affects the University of Iowa’s colleges of medicine and dentistry admission rates. Specifically, the bill requires 80-percent of all applicants accepted into those respective colleges at the University of Iowa would be required to have established residency in Iowa.
House File 530 authorizes judicial officers and state legislators to obtain a professional permit to carry weapons.
