(Greenfield, IA) — Recently, Nodaway Valley Senior Bailey Carstens signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Simpson College in Indianola, IA. Carstens says she had decided to play college volleyball after her junior season and filled out recruiting forms online for several schools and Simpson reached out to her. However, a coaching change at the school nearly left her a victim of bad timing
Bailey won’t be the only Carstens that has played athletics with the Storm — her grandfather Dean Carstens played football and basketball at Simpson in the mid 1970’s. Bailey meanwhile never thought she would get the chance to play college sports
Carstens says her love of volleyball started at an early age and once again there were some family influences
Carstens did not have major eye popping statistics at Nodaway Valley but she is versatile — she played several positions with the Wolverines and she says there are a number of things that she believes stood out to the Storm
Carstens says she will go to Simpson and train to become a Dietician.
