(Atlantic) We continue the season wrap-up of the Atlantic wrestling team. We have covered the senior and junior lettermen; today’s feature is on the six sophomore letter winners.
We will start with Carter Hadley. Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff mentioned Hadley wrapped up his sophomore season with a record of 33-26, and enters his junior season with 45 career wins.
Audio PlayerCollin Harris, a state qualifier, went 40-14 on the season.
Audio PlayerJayden Harter went 43-15, and 71-39 career wins heading into his junior season. Coach Duff says Jayden had a good win over the number #2 seed at the district meet, and lost in the district final, and a wrestle back.
Audio PlayerKalvin Hayes finished his sophomore season with a record of 42-15, 25 pins, and a career record of 63-34, and qualified for the state tournament.
Audio PlayerRoland Hinman had not been out for wrestling, and decided to give it a go, and got thrown into the fire.
Audio PlayerDreven Smith, another sophomore letter winner, went 32-24 this season, with 18 pins. After two years with the program, Smith has 39 career wins.
Audio PlayerCoach Duff says these six sophomores have done a lot for the program and will be called upon as upper classmen to do even more. Duff is counting on them to be leaders for the young wrestlers entering the program.
