(Anita) On Monday, the CAM School Board approved one-year employment contracts for certified and non-certified staff for the 2025-2026 school year. School Board President Cara Murphy tells KSOM-KS95 News the certified staff received a 3.99 percent pay increase.
The CAM School Board also approved the 2025-2026 AEA purchasing agreement and the local government risk pool agreement for 2025-2026. Murphy says school districts pay a single premium at the beginning of the fiscal year to cover all natural gas services for the year (from utility expenses to the gas itself)—no more gas utility bills.
Meanwhile, the search for a new shared superintendent with Nodayway Valley continues. Murphy says the CAM and Nodaway Valley School districts will meet jointly on March 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fontanelle Media Center. This is a closed session to review the list of prospective superintendent candidates. The two district boards will jointly meet again in a closed session on March 31 at the media center in Massena to narrow the list to three. On Monday, April 7, the three finalists will be interviewed within the two districts.
In other business, the administration reported that the Iowa Connections Academy will hold graduations on Saturday, May 17, at the CAM High School. There will be two ceremonies, one at 11:00 a.m. and another at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, May 18, the CAM brick-and-mortar seniors graduation ceremony will also be held at the CAM High School.
