(Villisca) Firefighters from Villisca, Stanton, and Clarinda responded to the 2700 block of S. Avenue on Monday evening for a fire near a residence, extending into a farm field.
Villisca Fire Chief John Bruce stated that firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:45 p.m. and observed the fire extending into a field from the North Side of a residence. Fire crews were able to suppress the fire and check the residence for fire extension. None was noted on the residential structure.
Chief Bruce says there is minor damage to the surrounding residential utility units and the residence siding.
No one was injured.
The agencies assisting include the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Communications, Clarinda Fire Department, (disregarded while in en route), and the Page County Communications.
