(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley girls basketball was in an unusual situation this season — the Wolverines finished with a 8-15 record and were below .500 for the first time in quite awhile. Head Coach Brian Eisbach says it was a situation that he does not want to repeat
Nodaway Valley will lose four senior starters — Maddie Weston, Mylee Comstock, Taylor Wade and Liz Laughery — and all four players emerged as starters around leading scorer Izzy Eisbach in the last off season. Are the Wolverines in the same boat this off-season? No. Eisbach says there are reinforcements on the way
Eisbach says the top scorers for O-M will be on Nodaway Valley next season — Junior Emma Boswell averaged 18.7 points a game for the Bulldogs and her Freshman sister Ella Boswell averaged 10.9 points a game. That will give Izzy Eisbach some help — in her junior season, Eisbach led the team in scoring, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks — she led the entire state regardless of class in points scored and is currently third all-time in school history with 1,534 points. Her Dad and Head Coach Brian Eisbach says she would trade all the stats for more wins
Nodaway Valley also has a group of young players like Juniors Kacie Ford and Lea Stonebraker, Sophomore Ava Armstrong and Freshman Taylor Laughery that will vie for playing time.
