(Neola, IA) — Tri Center Head Coach Derek Sonderland believes that his girls basketball team played some its best games down the stretch but some struggles early resulted in a 7-15 season. The Trojans did get a playoff victory over Logan Magnolia, avenged an earlier season loss to Underwood and Sonderland liked some of things he saw
Tri Center will lose both of their leading scorers to graduation — Quincy Schneckloth led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals and Hayden Thomas was second in scoring and led the team in three pointers. Sonderland says they both do so much more than what the statistics show
The Trojans will turn to returning players Sophomores Caitlin Greiner and Jozie Payne and Juniors Avery Assman and Macie Schneckloth to lead the way — which one will emerge as the leader is hard to say — Sonderland says time will tell
Sonderland says the Trojans only averaged 35 points a game this past season so they will have to figure out a way to generate more offense.
