(Atlantic) The First Church of Christ and Shine Like Stars Committee is releasing information on the 2025 Shine Like Stars Event on April 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Billie Hoover, Committee member, says Shine Like Stars Shine Like Stars is a prom-like experience where folks with intellectual or physical limitations come together for a night of celebration. Hoover says our honored guests dress up and are treated to dinner, dancing, flowers, karaoke, photo booth pictures, and goody bags with fun swag to take home. She says each guest also goes through a special ceremony to receive a crown or tiara so that they may be celebrated for the Kings and Queens that they are. Billie Hoover says it truly is a special night!
Hoover says March 16 is the dress up event. She says any lady or man who would like to attend the event can come to the First Church of Christ from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to see if there is a dress or suit they might like to have for the event – no charge.
This event is hosted by First Church of Christ and Central Churches of Christ, with help from New Life Church. More than 80-90 special guests will attend, in addition to the dance buddies and volunteers needed to make the evening a success.
As with all events, Hoover says volunteers and donations are needed to ensure our guests have that exceptional red-carpet experience… We hope you consider partnering with us to make that all possible.
