(Atlantic) The Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors were hosted by CASA of Southwest Iowa on Thursday February 27th. The Ambassadors welcomed the organization as a new Chamber member, and took the opportunity to learn more about the services CASA provides.
CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA of Southwest Iowa recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who serve as court-appointed advocates for children in the juvenile court system. These volunteers, known as CASA advocates, provide a consistent and caring presence in a child’s life, ensuring their needs are heard and considered. CASA of Southwest Iowa serves children in Audubon, Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby counties.
Anne Christensen, Program Coordinator, shared that by becoming a Chamber member, CASA of Southwest Iowa is seeking to increase their connection with local businesses and residents. CASA of Southwest Iowa understands the importance of community collaboration in supporting their mission
