(Iowa City, Iowa) A pedestrian died Sunday morning after being hit by a fire truck in Iowa City. The Iowa State Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. while an Iowa City fire truck, driven by 33-year-old Brandon Pflanzer, was departing from a medical call in the 1000 block of S. Scott Blvd. The victim, 99-year-old Evelyn Bothmer of Iowa City, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
