(Page County) A single-vehicle crash in Page County claimed the life of a 19-year-old man early Saturday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:41 a.m. on 210th Street, approximately 2,800 feet east of Willow Avenue. Authorities identified the victim as James Michael Wilmes of New Market.
The report states that Wilmes was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 eastbound on 210th Street when he crested a hill, lost control, and veered off the road into a ditch. The vehicle continued through a wooded area, striking multiple trees before overturning and coming to rest facing west. The truck then caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.
