(Des Moines) A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for west central and portions of southwest Iowa until 9:00 a.m. this morning.
Freezing wind chills of 20 to 28 below zero are expected. These dangerously cold winds could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
The good news is that a warm-up is on the way, with a high of 30 degrees on Saturday, 40 degrees on Sunday, 49 degrees on Monday, 53 degrees on Tuesday, 50 degrees on Wednesday, and 46 degrees on Thursday.
