(Atlantic) Six members of the Atlantic wrestling team took time on Monday to visit KSOM/KS95 Sports ahead of their trip to the state tournament.
Sophomore Collin Harris (113) enters the tournament as a district champion with a 39-12 record. Braxton Hass (120), a junior and two-time state qualifier, holds a 44-13 record after finishing as a district runner-up. Sophomore Kalvin Hayes (138) makes his state debut with a 41-13 record.
Aiden Smith, a four-time state qualifier and three-time medalist—including a state runner-up finish—heads into the tournament with an impressive 43-3 record. As a seeded wrestler, Smith earns a first-round bye. Donovan Hedrington (190) also enters as a district champion, boasting a 43-14 record. Evan Sorensen (285) returns to the state tournament with a strong 39-3 record.
