(Elk Horn, IA) — The girls basketball playoffs resume tonight in Class 2A — Exira EHK will host Underwood in a Regional Quarterfinal game, coverage on KS 95. The start time has been moved up to 5:30 pm.
The Spartans are 16-5 and led by Sophomore Taryn Petersen averaging 23 points a game and Jaelynn Petersen at 10.9 ppg. While the Petersen cousins get a lot of attention because of their scoring, Exira EHK needs contributions from starters Harlee Fahn, Kandace Sporrer, and Riley Miller. Underwood comes in with a record of 9-12 and led by 5-8 Sophomore Ainsley Roberts at 12.1 ppg and 5-10 Junior Carly Nelson at 9.2. Exira EHK scores about 14 points a game more than the Eagles but Petersen says they will have to play tough defense to limit their shooting opportunities
