(Undated) — Internet searches for gambling addiction help is a growing problem and experts say sports betting is to blame.
The Journal of the American Medical Association said in a recent report that if gambling addiction gets out of control it could develop into serious mental health disorders and other problems. Searches for gambling addiction help in 2022 increased twenty-two percent, then jumped twenty-five percent in 2023 and in the first half of 2024 ticked up thirty-one percent.
States showing the highest amount of searches are Ohio, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
