(Glenwood, IA) — Audubon and Harlan both competed at the 2A Wrestling Districts at Glenwood — the Wheelers have three wrestlers advance to state and the Cyclones will send four next week to the Wells Fargo Arena.
Audubon had three district runners up — Freshman Leyton Elmquist at 106, Junior Lane Elmquist at 126 and Freshman Jon Rasmussen at 132.
Harlan’s senior Jesse Jens is going back to state with a 51-2 record as the district champ at 126 pounds. Three Cyclones had to win wrestlebacks to advance as district runners up — at 157, Chayton Snethen won 5-4 over Jackson Barringer of Winterset, at 150 Brody McKinley won by fall at 1:28 over Jayden Harter of Atlantic and at 175 Brody Bendorf won 10-0 over Bowen Tadlock of Winterset.
