(Atlantic, Iowa) – Early this morning (Friday) at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Atlantic Fire Department was dispatched to a potential house fire at 322 Elm Street. Atlantic Police were the first to arrive but did not observe any signs of smoke. However, upon the fire department’s arrival, smoke was detected coming from an attic vent. All residents of the home were evacuated safely. The police turned off the main electrical panel while a team from AMU arrived to cut off the home’s electrical supply. Cass EMS was also present and stood by in case assistance was needed. More information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
