(Winterset) The City of Winterset says it is not to blame for ending up with a quarter-of-a-million dollars that was supposed to go to the Cities of West Des Moines and Patterson. The Winterset City Administrator says Madison County deposited the money in Winterset’s City account by mistake, but the County has not taken the money back despite Winterset’s requests. On Friday, Madison County Treasurer Amanda Devos was arrested, charged with mismanagement, tampering with records, and fraud.
