(Des Moines) Iowa District #18 State Representative Tom Moore says the Governor and Senate have made it publicly clear that they only support a 2% SSA increase.
Moore says this week, the House has spent considerable time in caucus discussing this issue. The Griswold Republican stated that many in the Iowa House Republican caucus want to get more funding for our school districts.
Currently, the House is still considering a number of options for increased funding in other areas, such as operational sharing, per pupil equity, and transportation, while we wait for the Senate to send us a bill with a 2% SSA increase. Representative Moore suggests patrons contact their Senators and ask why they are intent on reducing funding to our schools.
