(Eagle Grove) On January 13, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office executed an arrest warrant for Colt Allen Richardson, a former police officer with the City of Eagle Grove, following an investigation into alleged criminal violations committed both while on and off duty.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) led the inquiry into allegations against Richardson, resulting in a charge under Iowa Code Section 728.2 for Dissemination and Exhibition of Obscene Material to a Minor. After reviewing the investigatory materials, the Wright County Attorney’s Office filed an additional charge against Richardson for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class D Felony.
Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation and arrest, including the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Eagle Grove Police Department, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wright County Attorney’s Office.
