(Stanton) On Saturday, the fire departments from Stanton, Red Oak, and Elliott responded to a grass fire near a structure.
Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce reported that the call occurred at 12:31 p.m. about a grass fire at 2513 170th Street near a barn. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a debris pile had spread into a southern field and grassy area just a few feet from the barn. Chief Bruce indicated that the fire crews quickly controlled the blaze and spent a significant amount of time extinguishing the debris pile fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries to either civilians or firefighters.
