(Creston, IA) — Mount Vernon wins the Panther Invitational by five points over Algona. Riverside finished 5th and Nodaway Valley finishes tied for 7th out of 11 teams.
For the Wolverines, Ashton Honnold continues his domination and perfect record going 3-0 with 3 falls and is now 35-0. Trent Warner went 3-0 with 3 falls to advance into the finals at 285 but had to injury default and is now 36-2. Ty Strode finished 2nd at 120 pounds going 3-1.
For the Bulldogs, Drew Anderson was the winner at 132 beating Lane Travis of Creston 12-4 MD in the finals. Jett Rose was 2nd at 165.
