(Washington, DC) — A Republican Senator who may have been a roadblock to Pete Hegseth’s nomination as Defense Secretary now says she’ll support him. Iowa Senator Joni Ernst made a statement Tuesday after Hegseth’s confirmation hearing, saying she’ll change course to support Donald Trump’s pick. Her switch all but assures Hegseth’s confirmation to lead the Pentagon. Hegseth has been accused of sexual assault, excessive drinking on the job, and making racist and misogynistic remarks.
