(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon Boys Wrestling program is young but freshmen are already making an impact this season. The one active senior for the Wheelers is Jack Stanerson at 150 pounds who is 21-8 overall. Audubon Head Coach Tyler Christensen believes Stanerson is poised to make a run to the state tournament this year
Freshman Leyon Elmquist started the year at 120 pounds but has worked his way down to 106 and Christensen says he has not missed a beat at any one of the weights
Also for Audubon, Freshman Keaton Reis is 11-5 at 113 pounds, Junior Lane Elmquist — a state qualifier a year ago — is 14-9 at 120 and Freshman Mason Kasperbauer has faced tough competition at 165 pounds and is 11-7. Also Christensen says there are two kids that he thought would be part of the line-up but have not wrestled because of injuries
Tonight, Audubon hosts a quad with Southeast Warren, Lenox and Mount Ayr and the meet will be in Elk Horn
After tonight, Audubon will compete this Saturday in the Bill Kane Kuemper Duals in Carroll.
