(Anita, IA) — SWAT is looking strong on the mat this season — the girls wrestling team has seven wrestlers that have 17 wins or more individually so far as they go into their first action of the new year tonight. Sophomore Bailey Lillard started the season at 155 and moved down to 145 and is 19-3 overall
Senior Jazz Christensen is 19-5 at 100 pounds, Sophomore Destiny Fry is 18-6 at 115, Senior Ellen Gerlock is 17-3 at 190, Sophomore Megan Gerlock is 18-4 at 235 and Freshman Nadia South has made a seamless transition to varsity from middle school wrestling and is 19-4 at 110 pounds
Tonight begins a busy stretch of wrestling that will carry over to the districts on January 31. South says his girls just need to stay focused
SWAT will be at the Panorama Tournament tonight and then heads to Atlantic for the Trojan Duals on Friday.
