(Storm Lake) On Saturday, the Atlantic High School Archery team had a commendable showing at the Buena University NASP Classic, finishing third in the Bullseye competition and second in the 3D events.
Madeline Blake delivered a standout performance, securing the top position in the 3D division and taking runner-up in Bullseye within the girls’ high school category. She scored 280 in 3D to claim first place and 282 for the second position in Bullseye. Rylan Martin also performed well, finishing seventh in Bullseye with a score of 273. Notably, in the 3D division, six other team members made the top ten: Rylan Martin (fourth, 264), Jacquie Freund (fifth, 263), Mariah Hadley (sixth, 263), Paislee Klever (seventh, 262), Kaylee Stetzel (ninth, 259), and Lily Johnson (tenth, 258).
Hank Roberts and Grant Petty led the way on the boys’ side. Roberts placed third in the 3D competition with a score of 288, while Petty came in fifth with a score of 283. Other notable finishes included Zander Pieken (eighth, 280) and Wyatt Hoover (ninth, 280). Petty secured a runner-up finish in the boys’ 3D event. Ryan Hackwell finished fifth with a score of 276, Conner Johnson came in seventh with 272, and Roberts rounded out the top ten with a score of 269.
The Atlantic Middle School team also performed admirably, finishing second in the Bullseye category. Lucy Northwick clinched victory in the girls’ division with a score of 274, while Amanda Juhl placed sixth with 249. Grady Roberts also showed strong performance, finishing third with a score of 268. In the 3D competition, Willow Drake led the AMS girls, securing third place with a score of 247. Among the boys, Grady Roberts placed seventh with a score of 254, and Drayven Wheeler followed closely in eighth with 253.
