(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines forecasts snowfall of 2 to 4 inches across west-central and southern Iowa today. The heaviest snowfall, ranging from one-half to nearly one inch per hour, is expected to occur until 11:00 a.m. This will affect the morning commute, leading to snow-covered roads, slippery conditions, and reduced visibility. The snowfall is anticipated to taper off from west to east late this morning through the afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon today for the following counties in southwest and west-central Iowa:
