(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors met on Thursday morning for an organizational meeting. They elected a new chair and vice-chair and changed the meeting times. The board looked differently this morning, with Bryant Amos taking the District #3 seat and Alex Burton now representing District #5.
The supervisor kicked off the meeting by electing Charla Schmid as Board Chairperson and Amos as Vice-Chair. Before voting, Amos stated that the Chairperson would be in total control of the meeting.
The board also voted to continue meeting weekly on Tuesdays; however, the meeting start time has been changed to 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.
The Supervisors approved the Red Oak Express as the official county newspaper.
Additionally, the supervisors approved the employee’s holiday schedule and designated December 24, 2025, as a floating holiday.
