(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors re-elected Steve Baier as Chairman of the Board and Mark O’Brien as Vice Chair.
The Supervisors will meet on the first and third Tuesday’s of each month, unless an additional meeting needs to be called.
The Anita Tribune, Atlantic News Telegraph and Griswold American were named the official County newspapers. The mileage reimbursement rate for employees and Sheriff’s Civil Processing was set at 67-cents. Medical Examiner fees were set at $200 for a standard call and $400 for an involved call, with reimbursement for expenses incurred.
The Courthouse will be closed on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. The board tabled action on setting the Christmas Eve hours for employees not covered by bargaining agreements so the board can gather input from the employees.
The Supervisors also approved Dennis Vogl as Weed Commissioner and a number of other appointments to various boards and committees.
The Supervisors then approved allowing Landus to place a 72,000 gallon anhydrous ammonia tank and anhydrous facility on the property located at 53597 650th Street near Atlantic as recommended by the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
And, the job classification and wage change for Stephanie Witzman was approved. Witzman will move from Sheriff’s Office Assistant to Civil Processor/Office Manager at $27.53 per hour.
