(Pomeroy) The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating a shooting that occurred this (Tuesday) morning in Pomeroy.
Preliminary reports indicate that an altercation inside an apartment escalated into an exchange of gun fire involving multiple individuals. Two of the persons involved in the altercation have been hospitalized for gun shot wounds. Their condition is unknown at this time.
All individuals believed to have been involved in the altercation have been identified and are accounted for. The investigation is ongoing. No further individuals are being sought at this time. Law enforcement believes this was an isolated event and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Manson Police Department and Fort Dodge Police Department are assisting the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and the DCI in this investigation.
