(Audubon Co) The Oath of Office was administered to incumbent Audubon County Sheriff Todd Johnson and the two new Audubon County Supervisors this morning.
Kent Grabill and Donald J. Mosinski defeated Nathan Wahlert and Incumbent Douglas D. Sorensen in the November General Election. Supervisor Rick Thompson did not run for re-election.
Board Chair Heath Hansen thanked Sorensen and Thompson for their time on the Board.
Heath Hansen also shared some proposed Board goals that he plans to discuss further with the Board and department heads. He refers to these goals as the “Three B System,” which stands for Baseline Government, Building Systems, and Basic Expectations.
Some key points of this system include the following: aligning county departments with those of other counties, improving efficiency within county departments, reviewing any excessive personnel or spending, pausing capital projects – unless there is an emergency, and implementing a system to review 28E agreements, policies, ordinances, and county land review.
Additionally, the system aims to establish an efficient method for communicating volunteer opportunities within the county, review basic expectations with the departments, and ensure that meetings are conducted in an orderly and respectful manner.
