(Creston) A Creston woman sustained possible injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Monday.
The Creston Police Department reports that the accident occurred at 4:22 p.m. at the intersection of Sycamore and Devoe Streets. According to the report, a 2017 GMC Terrain driven by 38-year-old Thomasina Maria Jackson was traveling east on Devoe Street when it struck the rear driver’s side of a parked 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The impact caused the Terrain to flip onto its side. The collision also pushed the parked Jeep into a front yard.
Jackson told authorities that she looked down to put out her cigarette just before colliding with the parked vehicle. She was subsequently taken by a private vehicle to Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston for evaluation.
The 2017 GMC Terrain sustained an estimated $7,500 in damage, while the Jeep Wrangler suffered about $5,000.
In other activity, Creston Police on Monday arrested 21-year-old Jonathan Dean Williams of Creston for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Officers cited and released Williams on a promise to appear.
