(Red Oak) At Monday’s meeting, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors received the Compensation Board’s Salary recommendations for elected officials for fiscal year 2026.
The recommendation includes a 10-percent salary increase for the Treasurer and Recorder, a five-percent increase for all other elected Officials, and a $1,500 stipend for the Supervisor Chair.
The supervisors approved the recommendation for budget purposes only. The figures can be modified as the board works through the budget process.
Meanwhile, the newly elected officials were also sworn in this morning. Bryant Amos defeated incumbent Randy Cooper in the June Primary to take over the Supervisor District #3 Seat, and Alex Burton defeated Jill Cooper in the Primary for the Supervisor District #5 chair. That seat opened when Donna Robinson decided NOT to run for a fifth term on the board.
In other business, the supervisor approved Cubby’s Inc.’s request for a Class E Retail Alcohol License and approved the resolution for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan for Montgomery County.
