(Greenfield, IA) — One of the main focuses for Adair County in the new year will be building new homes. The Adair County Board of Supervisors had a short meeting on Monday and they talked about adding housing in the county to replace many of the damaged homes from the 2024 tornado. Scott Tonderum, General Manager of the Greenfield Municipal Utilities says a committee is being formed to look into building 100 homes or more
Tonderum says they are starting to talk landowners around Greenfield about annexation or purchasing property for the new homes. Tonderum wanted the supervisors to have representation on the committee to help with any issues that may arise. He says there are currently 60-70 new homes being built but more are needed
The Board of Supervisors also approved vouchers and contracts totaling just over $90,000 and approved a raise for Driver’s License Clerk Susan Stevens.
