(Shelby Co) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved rent bids for crop year 2025 for the Solid Waste farm ground and County-owned farm ground.
According to the meeting minutes, the Shelby County solid Waste farm high bidder was Craig Weis in the amount of 391-dollars per acre for the 108 acres stated in the contract and published notices. The Shelby County owned farm had the high bid of $401.50 per acre for the 146 acres in the contract and notices, submitted by Craig Weis.
In other action, the Supervisors approved the lease with Country Care. The lease was set to expire on June 30, 2025. The terms were revisited and the lease will remain unchanged.
County Engineer Chris Fredericksen asked the Supervisors to approve the current wage scale for non union employees at Secondary Roads for calendar year 2025. The Supervisors approved the request.
The Supervisors also considered approval for prescribed wage increases for all employees receiving successful performance evaluations. The increases will be effective January 1st, 2025.
And, the board thanked Supervisor Steve Kenkel for his time spent serving Shelby County. Supervisor Kenkel said “after 12 years this has been an awesome ride and that being a Supervisor is not a part time job. The time it takes to administer the County has become limited because of time.”
